The products required to complete the repair are;
- Colour Matched Hardwax
- Battery Heating Tool or Gas Heating Iron
- Special Applicator
- Paint Box or Graining Pens
- Special Repair Lacquer
Step by step guide
Firstly, carefully remove any high points of the damage using a chisel or a suitable tool of your choice.
Heat a Colour Matched Hardwax stick with your heating tool. For some woodgrains, we would recommend mixing and combing two colours of hardwax together. This tool can then be used to work in the melting wax into the damage until it is overfilled. Briefly allow the wax to cool down for a few seconds
Finally, level off the area using a special applicator tool.
Depending on the woodgrain you are repairing, you may need to paint in the grain detail using the paint box or graining pens.
Once you are happy with the repair, the worked area will need to be sprayed with a special repair lacquer.
